Two held with 460 gram heroin in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Sept 09, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested two suspected drug peddlers with 460 gram of smuggled heroin and other goods from Ashratpur Dhakaiya Para area in the city early hours of today.
“An operational team of RAB-13 from its Battalion Headquarters raided the area and arrested the drug traders with contraband heroin and other goods,” said a press release issued here by ASP Khondker Golam Mortuza, Assistant Director of RAB.
The elite force seized 460 gram of smuggled heroin, one pick-up van, three mobile phone sets, four SIM cards and Taka 21,480 in cash from their possessions.
The arrested persons are Sohana Akhter, 25, wife of Oliur Rahman Oli of Ershad Nagar village in Kotwali Thana of Rangpur district and Bablu Hossain, 42, son of Altaf Ali of Harsihpur Natunpara village in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj district.
“During primary interrogation by the elite force, the arrested persons admitted their involvements with supplying smuggled heroin to different areas of the country for a long time,” the release added.
After filing a case, the elite force handed over the arrested persons to Rangpur Kotwali Thana today.
