YANGON, Sept. 9, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – A total of 639 worker trainees in
Myanmar’s Yangon have received national level certificates for 14 skill types
under a 5,000 skilled workers assessment program, Myanmar News Agency
reported Sunday.

The skill certificates were presented by the National Skill Standard

Central Training School in Thuwuna township.

Over the past five months, 1,500 skilled workers were planned to be
assessed for national skill level one and two for 19 skill types. Up to
August, 1,651 were assessed, more than the 1,500 planned, and out of whom
1,486 passed, achieving a success rate of 90 percent, Minister U Thein Swe
said during the certificate presentation ceremony on Saturday.

The NSSA sent skilled workers to compete in the ASEAN Skill Competition
held in Thailand in August-September and achieved Medallion for Excellent
Award in restaurant service of hotel-related skill.

The minister urged the certified skill workers to use their skill in
raising the productivity of the country and strive toward achieving higher
skill levels.
