PIROJPUR, Sept 7, 2018 (BSS) – Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today said the country is moving forward in every sector under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Once upon a time, the total budget of the government was of Taka 7,000 crore only. But now, the days have changed…The present government, under a single ministry, is running development works of Taka 2,000 crore in one district, Pirojpur. It proves that the country is moving ahead,” he said, speaking at a meeting in front of Bhandaria upazila Parishad.
Earlier, Mosharraf inaugurated the annex building of the Parishad and an auditorium.
Water Resources Minister Anowar Hossain Manju addressed the meeting as the guest of honour with Bhandaria Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shahin Akther Sumi in the chair.
Pirojpur Zilla Parishad Chairman Mohiuddin Moharaj, Bhandaria Upazila Chairman Atiqul Islam Ujjal, Upazila Awami League President Faizul Rashid Khasru and former Upazila Chairman Monirul Haque Moni Jamaddar, among others, also spoke in the meeting.
Mosharraf said his ministry is implementing seven projects with an estimated cost of Taka 67 crore for supplying water in the district.
