40 rivers register rise, 50 fall

DHAKA, September 7, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 40 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 50 stations recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, three are steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in the steady trend which may continue in next 24 hours.

The Ganges-Padma river is in the rising trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The major rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in the falling trend which may continue in next 24 hours

A total of 30 mm rainfall was recorded at Teknaf and 15 mm at Khulna in the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.
