DHAKA, Sept 6, 2018 (BSS) – A five-member delegation led by Acting Danish Ambassador Refika Hayta is keen to invest in the dairy farming sector for increasing milk production to meet the country’s protein demand.

Bangladesh and Denmark can work together for modernization of agriculture sector as the two countries largely depend on agro-production, the delegation made the comment when they called on LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain at the latter’s office here, an official release said.

LGRD and Cooperatives Secretary SM Golam Kibria and members of the delegation, among others, were present on the occasion.

Mosharraf said Bangladesh has ranked fourth in fish production as the present government has taken various initiatives including providing incentives to expand dairy farming sector.

“Cooperative farmers are keeping a significant contribution for milk production, processing and marketing through Milk Vita,” he added.
