urgent basis,” he said in a message on the eve of the National Power and
Energy Week 2018.

Noting that sustainable development and modern progress cannot be

observed.

The President said the incumbent government has taken different
pragmatic steps in electricity generation, transmission and distribution to
continue the economic growth of the country.

Mentioning that the electricity production has reached to 20,000
megawatts at present due to setting up of new power plants and more 660 MW
electricity is being imported from India, the President said, “The government
is firm to reach the uninterrupted electricity supply to door-to-door
throughout the country by 2021.”

The energy sector, President Hamid said, is also doing tremendous
progress in energy sector and the government has also taken various steps in
exploring gas and increasing its production.
