Namaz-e-janaza of journalist Mamun held
DHAKA, Sept 4, 2018 (BSS) – Two namaz-e-janazas of Etv senior reporter Mamunur Rashid were held today at his workplace and Dhaka University campus respectively.
Mamun, 32, who covered Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s beat, breathed his last around 11.30 pm at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in the capital.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held on Etv premises with Etv chief editor and chief executive officer Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, managing director Major General (retd) AK Mohammad Ali Shikder, Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, Prime Minister’s deputy press secretary Ashraful Alam Khokon, Dhaka Reporters’ Unity president Saiful Alam, former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League Mahmud Hasan Ripon and colleagues joined the janaza.
Mamun’s second namaz-e-janaza was held in Dhaka University, which was attended by former vice-chancellor of the varsity AAMS Arefin Siddique, Awami League organizing secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Awami League forest and environment affairs secretary Delwar Hossain, deputy office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, Swecchasebak League president Molla Kawser, former general secretaries of Bangladesh Chhatra League Mahfuzul Haider Chowdhury Roton and SM Zakir Hossain.
Later, Mamun’s body was sent to his ancestral village in Narail, where he will be buried following third namaz-e-janaza after Maghreb prayers.
