ARREST-SATKHIRA
56 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Sept 4, 2018 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 56
persons including four activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and two activists of BNP
from eight upazilas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am this
morning.
Police also recovered 12 bottles of Phensidyl and 21 pieces of Yaba
tablets during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 13 persons including an
activist of Jamaat-E-Islami and recovered 21 pieces of Yaba tablets and 12
bottles of Phensidyl in an abandoned condition, Kalaroa Thana police arrested
seven persons, Tala Thana police arrested five persons including two
activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, Kaliganj Thana police arrested eight persons
including an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami, Shyamnagar Thana police arrested
seven persons, Assasuni Thana police arrested seven persons including an
activist of BNP, Patkelghata Thana police arrested seven persons including
an activist of BNP and Debhata police arrested two persons.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
