Two killed in Lalmonirhat road accident
LALMONIRHJAT, Sept 03, 2018 (BSS) – Two persons were killed and five
others injured in a road accident at Aditmari Polli Bidyut Sub-station point
on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari regional highway under Aditmari upazila here
today, police said.
“The accident occurred when a Burimari bound truck from Lalmonirhat hit
an auto rickshaw from the opposite directions there around 11:30 am injuring
seven passengers of the auto rickshaw,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Aditmari
Thana Masud Rana told BSS.
Police rescued injured persons of the auto rickshaw and sent them to
Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital.
“The attending doctor declared Alamgir Hossain, 18, son of Shafikul
Islam of village Duhuli under Kaliganj upazila in the district dead,” the OC
said.
Later, three critically injured passengers were shifted to Rangpur
Medical College Hospital (RMCH) as their conditions deteriorated further at
Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital this afternoon.
Injured driver of the auto rickshaw Abdul Khaleque, 35, son of Rahamat
Ali of village Tepa Polashi under Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat succumbed
to his injuries at the RMCH at 3:30 pm.
Three injured passengers are now undergoing treatments at Lalmonirhat
Sadar Hospital while two others at the RMCH.
“A case was filed in this connection with Aditmari Thana,” the OC told
BSS at 7:10 pm.
