International Film Festival ends at DU tomorrow
DHAKA, Sept 03, 2018 (BSS) – The screening and closing ceremony of the ’10th International Inter University Short Film Festival- 2018′ will be held at Dhaka University (DU) tomorrow.
With the slogan “Take Your Camera, Frame Your Dream”, Dhaka University Film Society in association with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), organised the festival to promote and inspire the work of university going film makers at TSC auditorium of DU from September 2 to 4, said a press release.
Tarana Halim, State Minister for Ministry of Information, is expected to attend the programme at the TSC auditorium as the chief guest.
Mr. James Lynch, Regional Representative for South-East Asia of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); Dr. Muhammad Samad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of DU and Morshedul Islam, a renowned Bangladeshi filmmaker, will be present as special guests.
In 2007, International Inter-University Short Film Festival (IIUSFF) started its journey with the goal to provide a platform for the young and talented student filmmakers in Bangladesh and abroad to showcase their talent.
Over the years, it has succeeded in creating a name of its own and to work as a cross-cultural platform to portray different styles and dimensions of young University-going filmmakers throughout the world.
This year, 685 films from 71 countries have been submitted through our two months long Call for Entry.
The inaugural session of 10th IIUSFF was held at the Goethe Institute Bangladesh on 19th August, 2018 and the second screening session was held at the Alliance FranOaise de Dhaka on 29-30th August, 2018.
