DRU condoles death of its former president Mostaq
DHAKA, Sept 3, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) today expressed
profound shock at the death of its former president Mostaq Hossain.
Mostaq, 58, special correspondent of daily Bhorer Dak, breathed his last
at a city hospital this morning. He was suffering from kidney and
cardiovascular disease.
DRU president Saiful Islam and general secretary Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo in
a condolence message prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and
expressed deep sympathy to his bereaved family.
The reporters’ body also declared two-day mourning over the death of its
former top-office bearer, as the flag of the organization will be kept half-
mast on September 4 and 5 and the members will wear black badges.
The first namaj-e-janaza of Mostaq was held on DRU premises, with the
leaders and members of DRU, BFUJ and DUJ in attendance. DRU leaders and
members placed floral wreath at the coffin of Mostaq.
His body was handed over to his family for burial after the second namaj-
e-janaza at Jatiya Press Club premises.
