DRU ex-President Mostaq Hossain passes away, PM condoles

DHAKA, Sept 3, 2018 (BSS) – Former President of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity
(DRU) and Special correspondent of Bangla daily Bhorer Dak Mostaq Hossain
passed away in a city hospital today.

He was 58.

“Hossain died while undergoing treatment at National institute of
Cardiovascular Disease (NICVD) hospital in the city at about 11 am,” said DRU
General Secretary Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo.

He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter, a host of relatives and
admirers to mourn his death.

Hossain had been sufferings from kidney and heart related diseases for
long, Shuvo said.

His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held on DRU premises after Johr prayers and
second was held at Jatiya Press Club (JPC).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sorrow at the
death of Mostaq Hossain.

In a condolence message, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul
and expressed deep sympathy to his bereaved family.

Jatiya Press Club President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and its general
secretary Farida Yasmin and DRU President Saiful Islam and its general
secretary Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo also condoled the death of Hossain.
