MANIKGANJ, Nov 20, 2017 (BSS) – The Diabetes Service Week was observed on Sunday in the district in a befitting manner with colourful procession and discussion.
On the occasion, Lions Club of Dhaka Regency District 315 B1, Bangladesh and Lions Club of Dhaka Parijat brought out a colourful procession from Collectorat premises led by Md Abdul Matin, acting Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj.
People of all walks of life participated in the rally that paraded the main roads of the town and ended on Zila Parishad premise.
A discussion was held at the auditorium of Zila Parishad. Lion Shafiqul Alam Bhuiyan, former District Governor of Bangladesh Lions Clubs International presided over the event. District Cabinet Secretary Farida Yasmin, president of the Club Lion Md Akramuzzaman, Lion Rakibul Hassan and Lion Farhana Afroz Lipi, among others, participated in the seminar.
Dr Md Nuruzzaman elaborately discussed the services to the diabetic patients. He advised the diabetic patients to lead a discipline life, taking regular exercise, eating food and having medicines according to the doctor advice.
On the occasion, free treatment was given to a number of diabetic patients, including tests.
