43 rivers register rise, 46 fall

DHAKA, Sept 1, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 43 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 46 stations recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, five are steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna river is in rising trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The Ganges-Padma rivers are in rising trend which may continue in next 72 hours.

The Major rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in rising trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

A total of 104 mm rainfall was recorded during last 24 hours ending at 6 am today at Sylhet, 88 mm at Zakiganj, 75 mm at Chattak, 65 mm at Lallakhal, 57 mm at Sheola and 52 mm at Mohadebpur.
