32 rivers register rise, 54 fall

DHAKA, August 31, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 32 rivers stations
monitored by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise
and 54 stations recorded fall.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, seven are steady, a bulletin
issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna river is in rising trend which may continue in the
next 48 hours.

The Ganges river is also in rising trend which may continue in next 72
hours, while the Padma river is in steady state which may rise in the next 24
hours.

The Major rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in falling trend which may
continue in the next 24 hours.

A total of 68 mm rainfall was recorded during last 24 hours ending at 6
am today at Dalia, 67 mm at Jariajanjail, 65 mm at Cox’s Bazar and 42 mm at
Jaflong.
