Academicians urge students to follow Bangabandhu’s ideal

RANGPUR, Aug 30, 2018 (BSS) – Academicians at a function held at Begum
Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) today called upon students to follow the
ideals of Bangabandhu for serving the nation with patriotism.

They made the call at a function arranged for distribution of prizes of an
essay competition organized in observance of the National Mourning Day-2018
and 43rd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman.

The BRUR authority organised the essay competition on “Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman: Student Life and Political Thought” participated by students
of different departments under all six faculties.

Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah
addressed the function as chief guest held at Academic Building No-2.

Convener of the National Mourning Day-2018 Observance Committee and
President of Begum Rokeya University Teachers’ Association Professor Dr Gazi
Mazharul Anwar presided over the function.

Dean of the Faculty of Arts of BRUR Professor Dr Parimal Chandra Barman as
special guest attended the function moderated by Member-secretary of the
observance committee HM Tarikul Islam.

Convener of the panel of judges of the competition and Professor Dr Sarifa
Salowa Dina and its member and Md Delwar Hossain also spoke.

Professor Dina said the Bengali nation achieved independence following
life-long struggles, unparallel contribution and sacrifice of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“The BRUR authority organised the essay contest for all students of the
institution, to spread the ideology of Bangabandhu so that every student
could acquire full knowledge about the political life of the great leader,”
she said

Professor Parimal said Bangabandhu had taken many epoch-making, visionary
and revolutionary steps during the post-liberation period to turn Bangladesh
into a ‘Sonar Bangla’ by restructuring the war-torn country .

The chief guest called upon students to hold the ideals of Bangabandhu and
engage themselves in building a happy and prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’ free from
hunger, poverty, illiteracy and exploitation as dreamt by Bangabandhu.
