Govt to fulfill shortage of teachers in fundamental medical education

DHAKA, Aug 30, 2018 (BSS) – The Health and Family Welfare Ministry is taking initiatives to fulfill the shortage of teachers of fundamental medical education and anesthesiology.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim today directed the officials concerned to take measures for giving different facilities, including special incentives, in fundamental medical education and anesthesiology.

The minister made the directive at a meeting at the ministry’s meeting room here today.

Nasim also directed to appoint the retired people on contract to fulfill the shortage of teachers and anesthesiologists and urged the officials concerned to send a specific proposal in this regard to the Ministry of Public Administration within the next 15 days.

Medical Education and Family Welfare Division Secretary GM Saleh Uddin, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Additional Director General Professor Dr Enayet Hossain, DGHS Director (medical education) Professor Dr Abdur Rashid, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Kanak Kanti Barua and Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) President Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin joined the meeting, among others.
