RANGPUR, Aug 30, 2018 (BSS) – Leaders of Mohila Awami League (AL) at a discussion today called for turning grief caused by killing of Bangabandhu into strength to foil all conspiracies of BNP-Jamaat to take the nation ahead.

They put emphasis on forging a rock-solid unity of the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion like that in 1971 to create stiff resistance against the BNP-Jamaat clique and anti-liberation forces to safeguard independence and sovereignty.

The city unit of Mohila AL arranged the discussion at its office in observance of the National Mourning Day-2018 and 43rd martyrdom anniversary of the Architect of Independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

With President of city Mohila AL Mamtaz Begum in the chair, its Women Affairs Secretary Aleya Khatun Lovely read out keynote paper.

Moderated by General Secretary of city Mohila AL Ismat Ara Barna, its Joint General Secretary Zamini Rani, Organising Secretaries Sanjis Ara and Suraiya Begum, Members Nishat Nahar, Mitu Rani and Sultana Parvin, addressed the discussion.

The speakers said the anti-liberation forces killed Bangabandhu and most of his family members on August 15, 1975 as a part of deep-rooted conspiracy to make the Bangalee nation leaderless.

They said Bangabandhu had uncompromisingly struggled for establishing rights of the Bangalee nation to make Bangladesh free from hunger, poverty, exploitation and disparity.

Ismat Ara Barna called upon all to work sincerely from their own positions to implement Bangabandhu’s unfinished works for building a peaceful, developed and modern Bangladesh.

Mamtaz Begum urged all pro-liberation forces to remain united and work together to turn the country into a ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu.

Later, special munajats were offered there seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of August 15.
