Cautionary signal 3 for seaports

DHAKA, Nov 17, 2017 (BSS)- The depression over Northwest Bay and adjoining West Central Bay moved slightly northeastwards and now lies over Northwest Bay and adjoining areas.

The depression was centred at 9 am today about 750 kms Southwest of Chittagong Port, 725 kms Southwest of Cox’s Bazar Port, 570 kms Southwest of Mongla Port and 595 kms Southwest of Payra Port.

It is likely to move in a North or Northeasterly direction. Under its influence deep convection is continuing over North Bay, a met office statement said here today.

The met office kept its warning signal number three, in a scale of 10 as it was issued yesterday for the seaports of Chittagong and Mongla and Cox’s Bazar.

“All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice,” the statement added.
