Youths need capacity building support

RAJSHAHI, Nov 16, 2017 (BSS)- Speakers at a function here unanimously underlined the need for ensuring capacity building support to the youths so that they can flourish their leadership uniqueness.

They viewed the youths through best uses of their gained leadership personalities can boost peoples participation to the local governance system for ensuring their transparency, accountability and inclusiveness.

The observation came in the opening session of a four-day training course for youths styled “Transparency, Accountability, Inclusiveness and Citizenship” at Postal Academy in the city yesterday afternoon.

The Hunger Project Bangladesh (THPB) organized the training in association with ‘Promoting Democratic Inclusion and Governance through Youths (PRODIGY)’ project and British Council.

A total of 36 youths both male and female are taking part in the training.

Ward Councilor of Rajshahi City Corporation Md Quamruzzaman, General Secretary of Rajshahi Rakhha Sangram Parishad Jamat Khan and its Member Jobayed Hossain, Central Councilor of Institution of Diploma Engineers Khaza Tareque and Field Coordinator (Monitoring and Operations) Subrata Kumar Paul addressed the session.

The training includes several individual and group presentations on social issues through which participants will demonstrate their creativities and communication skills.

Besides, the initiative has been taken to engage the youths towards democratic activities through their active and effective participation for strengthening capacity of professional skills.
