DHAKA, Aug 28, 2018 (BSS)- The Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari is all
set to host its maiden international football match through a FIFA
International Football Friendly match between host Bangladesh and Sri Lanka
scheduled to be held tomorrow (Wednesday).
State-owned Bangladesh Television (BTV) and BTV World will telecast the
match live that kicks off at 4pm.
This will be the first ever international football friendly match between
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at the Nilphamari stadium.
The football craze in Nilphamari has reignited since the announcement of
the FIFA friendly match. Tickets for the international friendly match were
sold out within an hour after releasing for sale on Sunday.
Locals are hyped about the much-anticipated match and the upcoming battle
between the Tigers and the Lions are now the talk of the town.
Niphamari District Sports Council President and former National Football
Team Captain Arif Hossain told reporters that all 12,500 tickets were sold
out within one hour in 11 designated bank branches.
“People are waiting for the match with high excitement,” he added.
“A total of 21,359 tickets were released and the rest of it would be sold
in upazila and union levels,” he said, adding that one thousand tickets have
been reserved for women while the remaining 359 tickets has been kept for
