Maya urges Myanmar to take back Rohingyas

COX’S BAZAR, Aug 28, 2018 (BSS) – Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya today urged Myanmar to take back their Rohingya citizens.

“Over 10 lakh Rohingyas entered Bangladesh in face of ethnic cleansing in their home state of Rakhine by Myanmar troops,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at Photography Exhibition here.

Office of the Rohingyas Relief and Repatriation Commissioner and Inter-Sector Coordination group jointly organised the photography exhibition on the basis of round the year work on Rohingyas.

Mentioning individual epic on sorrow-unhappiness a photograph of Rohingyas, displayed in the exhibition, the minister said the exhibition of the photographs on Rohingyas would be able to attract international forums.

It is a human disaster in the world that a large number of people forced to displace from their state another country by Myanmar army crackdown last year, he said.

“If Bangladesh could not give Rohingyas shelter at that time then a humanitarian catastrophe was happened in this region,” Maya said.

He urged Myanmar to take back their nationals immediately as they created financial and social chaos in Bangladesh and expressed gratitude to international organizations and different countries for standing beside Bangladesh during the Rohingya crisis.
