DHAKA, Aug 27, 2018 (BSS)-Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)
forecasts light to moderate rain or thundershowers throughout the country in
24-hour as of 9am tomorrow.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind is likely to occur at most places in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and
Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and
Mymensingh divisions,” said a met office press release here this morning.
Moderately heavy falls may also take place at some places in those
divisions in 24-hour commencing 9am today, the release added.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Another met office warning message said, rain or thundershowers accompanied
by temporary South or South-Easterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is
likely to occur in the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur,
Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla,
Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar till 6pm today.
River ports are advised to hoist cautionary signal number one, it also
said.
The maximum temperature was recorded 35.4 degrees Celsius yesterday at
Jashore in Khulna division while today’s minimum temperature 25.0 degrees
Celsius at Sylhet and Ragamati in Sylhet and Chattogram divisions
respectively.
The highest rainfall in the last 24-hour as of 6am today was recorded 28mm
at Nikli in Dhaka division, the release added.
The sun sets at 6:22 pm today and rises at 5:39 am tomorrow in the
capital.
