Seven newly elected councillors take oath
Dhaka, Aug 26, 2018 (BSS) – Seven newly-elected councillors of Dhaka South
City Corporation (DSCC) and Gazipur City Corporation took oath today at a
ceremony at the LGRD and Cooperatives Ministry seminar room.
LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain administrated
the oath to all elected councilors, an official release said today.
Newly-elected Mayor of Gazipur City Corporation Jahangir Alam told BSS
that they will take the charge from September 4.
One councillor from Dhaka South City Corporation and six councilors from
Gazipur City Corporation took their oath.
Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan Senior Secretary of Local Government Division and high
officials of the ministry were present on the occasion.
Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry
Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, and newly elected Mayor of Gazipur City Corporation
Jahangir Alam were also present on the occasion.
A gazette regarding names of the representatives elected in the by-
election of DSCC was published on August 6, 2018 and another gazette of the
newly elected representatives of Gazipur City Corporation was published on
July 30, 2018.
