RANGPUR, Aug 26, 2018 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian
Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated ‘Rakhi Bandhan’ festivity on Hili
border in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur today to bolster friendly relations
between the border guards.

The zero line area on Hili border factually turned into a ‘Milan Mela’
of friendship at noon when female BGB and BSF members tied ‘Rakhi’ on hands
of the on-duty members of BSF and BGB respectively.

While tying ‘Rakhi’ on hands of male members of BGB and BSF by female
members of the two border guards, they also fed each-other with sweets
strengthening relations of hearts between the two peoples.

The common people from either side of the zero line demarcation observed
the pleasant moments of cementing friendly relations between members of the
two neighbouring border guards.

The authorities of Hili ICP BGB Camp and Indian Hili BSF Camp jointly
arranged the traditional ‘Rakhi Bandhan’ celebration festivity.

Company Commander of Hili ICP BGB Camp Subedar Abdul Malek, Commander of
Indian Hili BSF Camp Jamil Shah and a large number of male and female members
of the two border guards were present.

Talking to local journalists, Subedar Abdul Malek said the two
neighbouring border guards exchange greetings with gifts and sweets on the
occasions of different national and religious festivals of both countries.

“Such exchanges of greetings help both the border guards in maintaining
friendly relations to conduct professional responsibilities smoothly for
better border managements to ensure peace and tranquility along the common
international borders,” he said.

Talking to BSS, Mayor of local Hakimpur municipality Jamil Hossain
Chalonto said Hili border turned festive during celebrations of ‘Rakhi
Bandhan’ festivity by the two border guards demonstrating friendly relations.
