RIVERS-SITUATION

42 rivers register rise, 47 fall

DHAKA, Aug 26, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels at 42 river stations monitored by
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 47 stations
recorded fall.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, four are steady, a bulletin
issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna and the Ganges-Padma rivers are in steady state
which may continue in next 24 hours.

The Surma river is in steady state and the Kushiyara river of the Upper
Meghna basin are in rising trend, which may continue in the next 24 hours.

A total of 94 mm rainfall was recorded at Kamalganj and 50 mm at Latu
during the last 24 hours ending at 6:00am today.
