35 rivers register rise, 54 fall

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 35 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 54 stations recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, four are steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna and the Ganges-Padma rivers are in steady state which may continue in the next 24 hours.

The Surma-Kushiyara rivers of Upper Meghna basin are in rising trend which may continue in the next 24 hours.

A total of 115 mm rainfall was recorded today during last 24 hours at Itakhola, 90 mm at Cattak, 85 mm at Jariajanjail, 72.4 mm at Noakhali, 68 mm at Sunamganj, 65 mm at Lalakhal, 51 mm at Moheshkhola and 47 mm at Durgapur.
