FIFA gives Palestinian FA boss 12-month ‘match’ ban over Messi comments
GENEVA, Aug 24, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – FIFA on Friday hit the Palestinian Football Association chief with a year-long ‘match suspension’ after he called for protest against Lionel Messi over plans for Argentina to play in Jerusalem.
“The Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the President of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA), Jibril Rajoub, with a 12-month match suspension… following media statements he gave calling on football fans to target the Argentinian Football Association and burn jerseys and pictures of Lionel Messi,” a FIFA statement said.
