RIVERS-SITUATION

24 rivers register rise, 66 fall

DHAKA, August 20, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 24 rivers stations
monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises
and 66 stations recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, three are steady, a bulletin
issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna Rivers are in falling trend which may continue in
the next 72 hours.

The Ganges-Padma rivers are in steady state which may continue in the
next 24 hours.

The Surma-Khushiyara rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in falling
trend which may continue in next 48 hours.

The Manu and Khowai Rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in rising trend
which may continue in next 24 hours.
