7,332 Eid-ul-Azha Jamats in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, Aug 19, 2018 (BSS) – Preparations are afoot for holding 7,332
Eid-ul-Azha congregations at Eidgahs and mosques in all eight districts under
Rangpur division amid tight security measures on Wednesday.

“The Muslims will take part in the Eid-ul-Azha congregations and
sacrifice animals in the division as elsewhere in the country,” Assistant
Director of Islamic Foundation at its divisional office here Md Shamsul Haque
said today.

Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Devas Bhattacharya said
adequate steps would be taken to ensure peaceful holding of 7,332 Eid-ul-Azha
Jamats and celebrations of the religious festivity by deploying police,
Ansar-VDP and RAB forces and volunteers.

Officials in the district administrations said the national flag would
be hoisted atop government, semi-government and private buildings and
mosques, Eidgahs, streets and major buildings be illuminated and decorated
with colourful flags and banners inscribed with Eid Mubarak.

Improved diets will be served to inmates of hospitals, jails, Shishu
Paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centres in all eight districts of
the division.

In Rangpur city, Rangpur City Corporation, district and police
administrations have taken adequate preparations to hold the main Eid Jamat
at Central Collectorate Eidgah in the city at 8:30 am.

Alternatively, the main Eid congregation will be held twice at Court
Jam-e-Mosque in the city if the weather remains unfavorable.

Former President and Jatiya Party Chairman Alhaj Hussein Muhammad
Ershad, State Minister for LGRD Mashiur Rahman Ranga, City Mayor Mostafizar
Rahman Mostafa, Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hasan Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner
Enamul Habib, Police Super Mizanur Rahman, Acting President of district Awami
League (AL) Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, politicians, professionals and elite will
participate in the main congregation.

The first Jamat of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at Rangpur Police Lines
ground at 8 am and, alternately, at Police Lines Jam-e-Mosque in the city at
the same time under inclement weather.

The major Eid congregations will held at Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque,
Kamal Kachhna Baro Jam-e-Mosque, Karamotia Jam-e-Mosque, Munshipara Eidgah,
Mulatol Alia Madrasa, Shalbon Mistripara Jam-e-Mosque, Satmatha Jam-e-Mosque,
Dhap Staff Quarter Jam-e-Mosque, Central Bus Terminal Jam-e Mosque,
Khotkhotia Jam-e-Mosque, Mahiganj Shahi Mosque and Alamnagar Aftabia Eidgah
ground between 8:30am and 9am in the city.

Outside the city, bigger Eid Jamats will be held at Badarganj Central
Eidgah, Pirgachha Karbala Eidgah, Pirgachha JN High School, Kawnia Central
Eidgah, Mithapukur Central Eidgah, Taraganj Chowpathi Eidgah, Pirganj Central
Eidgah and Alambiditor Paikan Baro Jam-e-Mosque between 8:30 am and 10am.

The other Eid-ul-Azha jamats will be held on the Eidgahs, mosques and
grounds in the rural areas in all eight upazilas of Rangpur between 8:30am
and 10.30am.

Thousands of Muslim devotees will offer special munajats seeking divine
blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country, its
people and Muslim Ummah during the Eid congregations.

Similarly, the Eid-ul-Azha Jamats will be held at the Eidgahs and
mosques of Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Gaibandha, Nilphamari, Panchagarh,
Thakurgaon and Dinajpur districts under Rangpur division.
