FAKE-CURRENCY-RACKET
8 held with Tk 75 lakh fake currency in capital
DHAKA, Aug 18, 2018 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested eight
members of a racket including its ringleader along with fake local currency
worth about Taka 75 lakh from the capital’s Lalbagh area on Friday evening.
“We arrested eight persons along with counterfeit currency worth about
Taka 75 lakh from Lalbagh area around 7.10 pm on Friday,” said a DB official.
The DB police also seized fake currency making equipment including a
laptop, two colour printers, printers, skin board and different types of
papers including foil papers, from their possessions.
The arrestees were identified as Kawsar Hamid, Alauddin, Nazrul Islam, Md
Mostofa, Md Sohel, Md Mojibur Rahman alias Badsha, Md Sajib, Hossain, and
Saleha Begum.
Legal action was taken against the arrestees.
