Rangpur JSL leaders call for building Sonar Bangla

RANGPUR, Aug 18, 2018 (BSS) -Jatiya Sramik League (JSL) at a mourning
discussion here last night called upon various professional groups to remain
united with pro-liberation forces for building Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla.

They made the call at the discussion organised by Rangpur city JSL at its
office in observance of the National Mourning Day-2018 and 43rd martyrdom
anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Earlier, leaders and workers of JSL, Awami League (AL) and its associate
bodies observed a one-minute silence and offered special munajats seeking
eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and most of his family
members assassinated on August 15, 1975.

With convener of city JSL Monirul Haque Chowdhury Miltan in the chair, its
member-secretary and general secretary of District Motor Sramik Union MA
Mazid addressed the discussion as the chief guest.

Deputy publicity secretary of city AL Shafikul Islam, joint conveners of
city JSL Hasanuzzaman Nannu, Habibur Rahman and Taslim Uddin, its Women
Affairs Secretary Nupur Begum, among others, addressed.

The speakers said Bangabandhu never bowed down before injustice and was
inflexible in establishing an independent Bangladesh free from poverty,
exploitation and disparity to bring economic freedom of the Bengali nation.

Shafikul Islam said Bangabandhu had struggled whole life for establishing
just rights of the Bangalee nation and he would always remain in the heart,
thoughts and conscience of the grateful Bangalee nation.

The chief guest said the assassinations of Bangabandhu and most of his
family members in 1975 were aimed at making the nation leaderless as part of
deep-rooted conspiracies for reversing the hard-earned independence.

He called upon the leaders and workers of JSL and common citizens to remain
united with the pro-liberation forces and work sincerely to complete
Bangabandhu’s unfinished works of building a peaceful and developed Sonar
Bangla.
