Bangabandhu worked for welfare of Bangalees: Nurul Islam

DHAKA, Aug 16, 2018 (BSS) – Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam Bsc today said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had carried out tasks for the welfare of the people throughout his life.

Following the footsteps of her father (Bangabandhu), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has now been working relentlessly for the welfare of the people.

The minister was as the chief guest addressing a discussion and doa-mahfil marking 43rd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day at Probashi Kalyan Bhaban at Iskaton here.

Nurul Islam said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman used to love Bengalees and honoured them. He (Bangabandhu) taught how to love the people and to work for their welfare as well, he added.

Chaired by Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary Dr Nomita Halder, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Additional Secretary Aminul Islam, Probashi Kalyan Bank Chairman Begum Shamsunnahar, Wage Earners Welfare Board Director General Gazi Mohammad Julhas, Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) Director General Selim Reza and Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL) Managing Director Maran Kumar Chakrawarty.
