31 held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, Aug 16, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 31
persons including 10 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 2,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets and 138
bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested six persons including two
drug traders with 38 bottles of Phensidyl, Birampur Thana police arrested two
persons, Birganj Thana police arrested three drug traders, Kaharole Thana
police arrested three persons, Biral Thana police arrested two persons,
Khansama Thana police arrested two persons, Nawabganj Thana police arrested
three persons, Phulbari Thana police arrested three persons, Parbatipur Thana
police arrested two persons and Ghoraghat Thana police arrested two drug
traders.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with
different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
three drug traders with 100 bottles of Phensidyl around 11pm from Hili
Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
