DU observes Mourning Day with solemnity

DHAKA, Aug 15, 2018 (BSS) – The Dhaka University (DU) authorities today
observed the National Mourning Day and 43rd martyrdom anniversary of the
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a befitting manner.

syndicate members, deans, provosts, proctors, chairpersons of departments,
directors of institutes and office heads, led by DU Vice-Chancellor (VC)
Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu
at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the morning.

The national, university and hall flags were hoisted at half-mast atop all
main buildings including halls of the university.

late Bangabandhu is stronger than the living Bangabandhu “, he said.

Besides, Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) also observed the
day with due solemnity. DUJA organised a photo exhibition titled “Bangaleer
Bangabandhu” at TSC.

Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the exhibition while DUJA members,
teachers, students were present.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hall in the afternoon. Special prayers were
