BCL demands execution of Bangabandhu’s absconding killers
RANGPUR, Aug 14, 2018 (BSS) – Leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL),
Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies at a discussion here tonight
demanded brining back and execution of all absconding killers of Bangabandhu.
They were addressing the post mourning rally discussion organised by
district unit of BCL at its office in observance of the National Mourning
Day-2018 and 43rd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Earlier in the morning, the BCL leaders placed wreaths at the portrait of
Bangabandhu and wore black badges and brought out a huge mourning procession
in the afternoon.
Later, President of district unit of BCL Mehedee Hassan Rony presided over
the discussion moderated by its General Secretary Rakibul Hassan Kanon.
President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed addressed the discussion as
the chief guest. General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju
addressed as the keynote speaker on the life and works of Bangabandhu.
Joint General Secretary of district AL Shahinur Rahman Sohel, Office
Secretary Tauhidur Rahman Tutul and BCL leaders, among others, addressed.
The BCL leaders said that the August 15 assassinations of Bangabandhu and
most of his family members in 1975 were deep-rooted conspiracies aimed at
making the nation leaderless for destroying independence.
Focusing on the life, deeds and contribution of Bangabandhu, they urged
all to work unitedly in the spirit of the War of Liberation to pay due
respect to Bangabandhu through building an exploitation-free developed Sonar
Bangla as dreamt by him.
They also urged the government for bringing back all of the absconding
killers of Bangabandhu to the country immediately for execution.
The chief guest called upon the BCL leaders and activists for forging
rock- solid unity to foil the conspiracies being hatched by the defeated
anti-liberation forces since killing of Bangabandhu to stop the nation’s
advancement.
