DHAKA, Aug 14, 2018 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury today
said although killers had assassinated Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, they could not kill his dream and ideology.

She said this while addressing a discussion and doa-mahfil at Mahanagar
Natyamanch here, marking the National Mourning Day and 43rd martyrdom
anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Speaking as the chief guest, Matia said Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina has upheld his ideology, adding that she is doing
politics to complete the unfinished works of his father.

Noting that Bangladesh has already emerged to a developing country from a
least developed one, she said Bangladesh now has a satellite – a ground of
realising the dream of Bangabandhu.

The Agriculture Minister said the anti-liberation forces not only killed
Bangabandhu, but also wanted to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina aiming to
hinder the country’s progress.

Chaired by Dhaka City South Jubo League president Ismail Chowdhury
Samrat, the function was attended, among others, by Jubo League central
committee president Omar Faruque Chowdhury, Dhaka South City Corporation
mayor Sayeed Khokon and Adv Saifuzzaman Shikhor.
