RANGPUR, Aug 14, 2018 (BSS)-Awami Swechchasebak League (ASL) leaders at a
mourning discussion have termed the August 15 assassinations of Bangabandhu
and most of his family members in 1975 as the darkest chapter of the national
history.

They said this at the discussion organised by city ASL at its office here
on Monday evening in observance of the National Mourning Day-2018 and 43rd
martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman.

President of city Awami League (AL) Shafiur Rahman Shafi attended the
discussion as the chief guest with president of city ASL Ataur Zaman Babu in
the chair.

Moderated by general secretary of city ASL Ramjan Ali Tuhin, its Vice-
president Anwara Ferdousi Poly, Organising Secretary Iftekharul Alam, Office
Secretary Abdur Rashid Jiban and Women Affairs Secretary Jafrin Islam Ripa
addressed the discussion.

General secretary of city AL Tushar Kanti Mandal addressed the discussion
as the keynote speaker.

Ataur Zaman Babu said the defeated forces of 1971 are hatching
conspiracies since assassination of Bangabandhu and trying to destabilise the
country and obstruct massive developments being carried out by the present
government.

The chief guest called upon the people to turn the grief of Bangabandhu’s
assassination into strength to build a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ as was dreamt
by Bangabandhu under the leadership of his able daughter and Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina.

“The leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies should stand in the
same row with the common people to foil all conspiracies being hatched by the
absconding killers of Bangabandhu and anti-liberation forces to hinder
national development,” he said.
