DHAKA, Aug 12, 2018, (BSS) – Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority
(BIWTA) today requested heavy vehicles to choose alternative route instead of
Shimulia-Kathalbari river route as dredging activities are being carried out
on the route.
In a notice, BIWTA said dredging is being held on the Shimulia-Kathalbari
river route to bring back navigability in the Padma river at the point.
However, ferries are being operated on the route carrying small vehicles,
the notice added.
