Construction of Bangabandhu’s mural at Carmichael College demanded

RANGPUR, Aug 12, 2018 (BSS) – Leaders of Carmichael Kailejia Education
and Cultural Sangshad (CKECS) today demanded setting up of mural of
Bangabandhu on Rangpur Carmichael College campus.

They made the demand in a discussion arranged in observance of the
National Mourning Day-2018 and the 43rd martyrdom anniversary of the
Architect of Independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman.

Earlier, a one-minute silence was observed followed by recitation from
the holy Quran and offering special munajats seeking eternal peace for the
departed soul of Bangabandhu and most of his family members who were
assassinated on August 15, 1975.

Head of Department of Physics of Rangpur Carmichael College and Chief
Patron of CKECS Professor Pradip Kumar Barman attended the discussion as the
chief guest.

Presided over by President of CKECS Rabiul Alam Rabi, its Vice-president
Farhad Uzzaman Faruk, students’ advisers Ashraful Islam and Alamgir Hossain
addressed the event as special guests.

Vice-president of CKECS Sabiha Tasnim Shammi and its Executive Member
Shahanaz Sanjida Hera jointly moderated the event participated by members of
the organisations, teachers and a large number of students of the college.

The chief guest called upon the present as well as future generations to
learn and always nurture the ideal, life philosophy and selfless patriotism
of Bangabandhu in their lives for building a developed and deprivation free
‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by him.

The other speakers urged the authorities concerned for establishing a
mural of Bangabandhu on the college premises to disseminate the true national
history, life-long struggles and sacrifice of Bangabandhu to the younger
generations. At the end, Organising Secretary of CKECS Sujit Chandra
Karmaker, its Assistant Organising Secretary Mottalib Hossain, Finance
Secretary Surobhi Akhter and member Ashraful Islam Raju recited their self-
composed poems dedicated to Bangabandhu.
