DHAKA, Aug 11, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today seized six buses of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan in the capital for running without route permit.

“Different teams of RAB-1 and RAB-4 seized the buses for plying on the road even after BRTA canceled their route permit. We would take legal actions against the buses after further scrutiny,” RAB Senior ASP (media) Md Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan told BSS.

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) recently scrapped the route permit of the transport company after one of its buses ran over students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College on July 29 as they were waiting beside the road to catch transport after college, killing two and injuring 10 others.

RAB and other law enforcement agencies, after the incident, arrested the owner, three drivers and two conductors of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan. The killer driver Masum Billah later confessed before court that he has no license to drive a bus, rather he is only certified to drive light vehicles.
