Mild earthquake jolts country

DHAKA, Nov 8, 2017 (BSS) – A mild earthquake jolted the capital city and different parts of the country this morning, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The tremor, measuring 4.7 in Richter scale, was felt at 10:50 am, Abdur Rahman, a meteorological official of BMD, told BSS.

The epicentre of the earthquake was in Tripura, India, 75 kilometres east of the BMD office in Dhaka, he added.

However, no damages and casualties were reported till filing this report.
