FBCCI seeks separate ‘chemical zone’

DHAKA, August 10, 2018 (BSS) – Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has urged the authorities concerned to set up a separate ‘chemical zone’ for facilitating the chemical business.

The apex business body made the call at a meeting of the FBCCI Standing Committee relating to the Industries Ministry (Productivity and Relates Chemical) held on Thursday at FBCCI Conference room in the city, said a press release here today.

Chairman of the Standing Committee Mohammad Ullah Palash presided over the meeting while Director-in-Charge of the committee M Nizam Uddin, Senior Research Officer of the Industries Ministry ATM Mozammel Haque and the representatives from different government and private organizations were present.

The business leaders at the meeting also demanded quick implementation of the government decision to set up the chemical zone.

They requested easing the licensing process for the chemical business.

Among others, FBCCI Vice President M Muntakim Ashraf and FBCCI Directors Abu Motaleb, Alhaj Azizul Hoque, Priti Chakraborty and Hafez Harun-Or-Roshid also took part in the discussion.
