Water levels in 33 rivers rise, 56 fall

DHAKA, July 9, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels at 33 river stations monitored by
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 56
stations recorded fall.

Among the 94 monitored stations, four river stations have been registered
steady, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in falling trend which may continue in
next 48 hours while the Ganges-Padma rivers are in rising trend which may
continue in next 48 hours.

The rivers in the Upper Meghna basin are in falling trend which may
continue in next 48 hours.

Significant rainfall was recorded at some stations in different districts
during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today, the bulletin added.

A total of 181 millimeters (mm) rainfall was recorded at Latu and 57 mm at
Zakiganj.
