Indian national held with 12.3-kg gold at Shahjalal airport
DHAKA, Aug 9, 2018 (BSS) – Customs officials arrested an Indian national
along with 22 gold bars weighing 12.300 kilograms worth about Taka 6.15 crore
from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city early today.
“We arrested an Indian citizen Arshad Ayaz Ahmed of Kolkata and seized
12.300 kilograms of gold from Green Channel area of the airport around 1.15
am today,” deputy director of Dhaka Customs House Othela Chowdhury told BSS.
The estimated value of the seized gold bars is Taka 6.15 crore, the
official said.
The arrested was handed over to police upon filing a case with Biman
Bandar Police Station to this end.
