Vietnam Airlines cancels, delays flights to Japan due to typhoon

HANOI, Aug. 9, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines
has canceled two flights and delayed six others between Vietnam and Japan on
Thursday to avoid Typhoon Shanshan which is brushing parts of the latter.

The affected flights were scheduled to depart from Vietnam’s central Da
Nang city, northern Hanoi city and southern Ho Chi Minh City to the Japanese
city of Narita and vice versa.

Vietnam Airlines announced it would launch make-up flights on later
Thursday.

Vietnam’s aviation industry served 28.9 million passengers in the first
seven months of this year, up 14.6 percent on-year, and transported 205,700
tons of cargoes, up 14.1 percent, said the country’s General Statistics
Office.
