‘Bangamata always inspired Bangabandhu during long struggles’

RANGPUR, Aug 09, 2018 (BSS) – Leaders of Awami League (AL) and its
associate bodies at a discussion have said Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa
Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, always
inspired Bangabandhu during the long struggles for independence not to get
upset.

They came up with the observation at the discussion organised last
night by the district unit of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League (BMAL) at its
office in celebration of the 88th birth anniversary of Bangamata.

The organisation chalked out programmes including observance of one-
minute silence in remembrance of Bangabandhu and most of his family members
who were assassinated by the defeated anti-liberation forces on August 15,
1975.

The other programmes included placing wreaths at the portraits of
Bangabandhu and Bangamata, recitation from the Holy Qur’an and Doa mahfil
followed by offering special munajats and discussion.

Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed attended the
discussion as chief guest with district BMAL President Mortuza Mansur in the
chair.

General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, its Office
Secretary Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, Women Affairs Secretary Latifa Shawkat,
Publicity Secretary Rosy Rahman, district Chhatra League President Mehedee
Hassan Rony addressed as invited guests.

Moderated by General Secretary of district BMAL Advocate Zakia Sultana
Choity, President of its city unit Mamtaz Begum, its General Secretary Ismet
Ara Barna, among others, addressed the discussion.

Paying rich tribute to Bangamata, the speakers discussed various
aspects of her life and said the nation would remember Bangamata Sheikh
Fazilatunnessa Mujib forever for her unparallel sacrifice during the whole
political life of Bangabandhu.

Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju focused on the life, deeds and sacrifice of
Bangamata and said that she properly suggested Bangabandhu during his crucial
times and that’s why we could achieve the ultimate independence.

The chief guest said, “Bangamata will remain immortal in the heart of
the Bangalee nation and be remembered forever for her unparallel sacrifice,
patriotism and love for the people during the uneven and tough political life
of Bangabandhu.”
