RAJSHAHI, Aug 9, 2018 (BSS)-Promotion of information and communication
technology (ICT) based auditing could be the crucial means of combating
banking sector fraudulence.

Large-scale application of ICT is also important for making the banking
transactions and other services transparent, time-fitting and client-friendly
in the present era of globalization.

The observations came at the closing and certificate-giving session of a
four-day training titled “Auditing Procedure in IT Environment” at ICT
Division’s Computer Training Laboratory in Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank
(RAKUB) here on Wednesday. Some 20 mid-level officers of the bank joined the
course.

RAKUB Managing Director Kazi Shanaul Haque and Deputy General Manager of
ICT Division Ashok Kumar Acharya attended and addressed the session as chief
and special guests respectively with its training institute Principal Ataur
Rahman in the chair.

Assistant General Manager of ICT Division Md Arifuzzaman also spoke. “We
have enormous opportunities of infusing dynamism into the banking activities
through best uses of ICT,” said Kazi Alamgir.

He asked the participants to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity
and honesty to brighten the image of the bank. He said there is no
alternative to computerisation to reach speedy and quality banking services
to the clients in the present era of ICT.

“You have to build yourselves as competent bankers through the best uses
of the knowledge likely to be acquired from the training,” said Alamgir.

There should be devotion to improving living and livelihood condition of
the public in general and the farmers in particular.

RAKUB, headquartered in Rajshahi, has been running its banking business in
all the 16 northwest districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions targeting
the farmers and their other sub-sectors.
