Govt pledge-bound to bring conspirators of Bangabandhu killing under trial; Mozammel

BOGRA, Aug 08, 2019 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today said the government is pledge-bound to bring those conspirators under trial who were involved with the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“The anti-liberation forces are still out to continue their conspiracies in the country. Although most of the killers of Bangabandhu have been brought to justice, but the conspirators of the Bangabandhu killing are yet to be brought to book. Our government is pledge-bound to bring them under trial,” he said.

The Minister was addressing a function marking the inaugurations of Muktijoddha Complex Buildings in six upazilas of Bogra and a view-exchange meeting with the freedom fighters here.

He said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing various programmes for ensuring welfare of the freedom fighters as the government is also working for buildi ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation imbued with the spirit of the War of Liberation.

The Minister informed that policy is being framed to provide free treatment to the freedom fighters while initiatives have also been taken to make special allocations for their treatment.

He also urged them to cast their votes for ‘boat’, the election symbol of Awami League, in the next general election to ensure welfare of the country’s people including the freedom fighters.

District Commissioner Muhammad Nure Alam Siddique, Zilla Awami League President Momtaz Uddin, Zilla Parishad Chairman Dr. Makbul Hossain, Additional Police Super Sanaton Chokraborty and Executive Engineer of public works department of Bogura Baki Billah were present at the programme.
