Shajahan for maintaining traffic rules
DHAKA, Aug 7, 2018 (BSS) – Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan today said it is
an urgent to follow the traffic rules to bring back discipline in transport
sector.
“It is mandatory to follow the rules…everyone should pursue the rules in
driving vehicles,” he said while addressing a reminiscence, marking the 43rd
martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman on Kamlapur ICD premises here.
About the proposed act to bring back discipline in the sector, the Shipping
Minister said the government is very sincere to establish the rule of law.
That is why the issue of the working people has also been considered in the
new transport act, he added.
Making comments on his resignation demanded by some quarters including BNP,
Shajahan Khan said the resignation is not solution to all problems. He
suggested drivers to drive their vehicles carefully to prevent road
accidents.
Chaired by Alhaz Shiekh Mohammad Farid, the meeting was addressed, among
others, by freedom fighter Ismat Kadir Gama, and labour leaders Shahbuddin
Ahmed, Abdur Rahim Box and Sultan Ahmed.
